Turquoise Sunburst Guadalupe Nicho | Handmade Mexican Folk Art
A tiny work of art with so much personality. This handmade Mexican nicho features Our Lady of Guadalupe framed within a beautifully layered shrine filled with color, texture, and traditional folk-art details.
The exterior combines bold turquoise and antique gold stripes with a dramatic hand-painted sunburst crown, while a sculptural bronze-gold frame surrounds the central image. Inside, a border of pearl-like beads adds an unexpected touch of softness and dimension against the vibrant depiction of Our Lady of Guadalupe.
Handmade in Mexico and found in San Miguel, this little treasure is beautiful displayed on its own or mixed into a collected gallery wall alongside art, sacred hearts, and other found objects.
As with all handmade folk art, variations, irregularities, visible brushstrokes, and imperfections are intentional parts of the piece's one-of-a-kind character.
